Excerpt from the press release of 20.02.2009:
Bremerhaven, Germany (ots) - The "Media Awards for Meteorology 2009" were awarded in the evening at the Klimahaus Bremerhaven 8° East as part of the Extreme Weather Congress. [...] Winner in the category "Best Web Application" is the page wetter3.de with a tool for a quick graphical representation of the results of weather model calculations. Used by professionals as well as hobby meteorologists, sailors or water sports enthusiasts, this site provides a quick and graphically attractive overview of the expected weather. The application was developed by Dipl.-Met. Rainer Behrendt and Dipl.-Met. Holger Mahlke. "The site meets great recognition in the weather sector," said Thomas Ranft, presenter at Hessischer Rundfunk, in his laudatory speech. The purpose of the prize is to promote the quality of reporting on weather and climate issues, weather forecasts, and to recognize specific content delivery services. The prizes are awarded annually in varying categories.
